Teeth Whitening for Sensitive Teeth
If you know me at all or have followed me on social media for more than 3 days, you know that I drink A LOT of coffee. And while I'm constantly being told that my caffeine intake is unhealthy, the only side effect I have noticed so far is my teeth- they aren't white. (3 lattes a day can do that to you.)
I've tried to counteract my coffee-stained teeth for years, attempting every new whitening toothpaste on the market, whitening strips, activated charcoal.. All. The. Things. All these remedies may have kept my teeth looking average (and not horribly yellow) but my teeth were never WHITE.
If you don't know, Smile Brilliant uses customized whitening trays that fit your mouth to pair with their whitening gel. When you sign up, they send you a kit to make your own impressions at home. I'll be honest with you, I put this off for like a week when I received my kit, thinking "I don't have time for this, maybe this weekend." But when I finally opened the box and went through the process of making my teeth impressions it maybe took 20 minutes total. And unlike any orthodontist visit I ever had as a teenager, it wasn't messy at all. They give you an envelope with pre-paid postage so you can mail your impressions back to their lab. There, they will create your teeth whitening trays. It only took about a week and a half for mine to be sent back to me! They make their process sound really easy, but let me tell you from personal experience- IT. IS.
The hard part is over. Place the whitening gel in your trays and wear them for at least 45 minutes. And that's it - You're done! Smile Brilliant suggests you do the whitening process every day for 3-4 weeks, although you will see results after just a couple of uses.
If you have sensitive teeth, like I do, you're going to want to take it slow. I personally had to use the whitening serum every 3 days because my teeth were noticeably sensitive for almost a full 24 hours afterward. But honestly, I'd take that over using diluted "over the counter" methods from the grocery store.
I used to avoid things like red lipstick because I knew it would make my smile dingy. Guaranteed I edited my smile in photos to make my teeth look white. But now I feel like those little insecurities are slowly fading away because I found something that works.
And just for being a reader and listening to my rant about teeth, I have a discount code so you can also try Smile Brilliant! Head over to their website and use promo code: laralayne15 to get 15% off!
